WHY WOMEN EMPOWERMENT?

In the past decade, recognizing gender equality's role in nations' health and development, gender equality emerged as pivotal. UNDP's Sustainable Development Goals emphasize gender equality and women's empowerment. This involves equal rights, opportunities, and resource access, enabling independent choices and control. Empowered women drive economic growth, social progress, and sustainable development, actively participating in education, healthcare, and leadership. Gender equality nurtures a diverse society, amplifying women's voices, talents, and potential, building a fairer, more harmonious world.

WHAT WE DO?

Bunuda Foundation's Swabhiman women empowerment program, initiated in 2005, reaches marginalized women, fostering nutrition, healthcare, and livelihood interventions. Swabhiman empowers through community-driven practices, encouraging healthcare-seeking behaviors and sustainable community changes. This extends to awareness, skills, and financial independence. Swabhiman also engages men and boys in achieving gender equality.

Our Innovations

• Reproductive & Child Health: Swabhiman's pilot, this initiative addresses primary healthcare, including pregnancy, newborn, and child health. It facilitates public and private health access, from family planning counseling to maternal and neonatal care through health camps and telemedicine.
• Nutrition Enhancement: Focused on the child's first 1,000 days, this program strengthens infrastructure, builds community awareness, and engages stakeholders for healthy pregnancy and childhood nutrition.
• Entrepreneurship Development: Empowering urban and rural women with entrepreneurship and skill training, breaking gender norms, promoting equality, and contributing to societal progress.
• Digital Financial Literacy: Empowering women to navigate the digital financial landscape, enhancing financial decision-making, and accessing services through digital platforms.
• Sustainability in Communities: Change Agents, Peer Educators, and Volunteers educate communities, addressing social, economic, and health challenges, fostering sustainable development.
• Govt. Convergence & System Strengthening: Networking with government institutions, coordinating with healthcare workers, centers, and specialists, amplifying the program's impact.
